ABOUT CONSTELLATIONS
INTRODUCTION & GUIDING PRINCIPLES
If you’d like a more immediate sense of this work, these short videos offer an introduction to Family Constellations and the guiding principles that underpin the practice. They’re a good place to start if you’re curious about how constellations work and what to expect when participating.
WHAT A CONSTELLATION CAN OFFER
There are a number of ways that a constellation can support your situation. By attending a constellation you may:
-
Create a sense of space and distance from the relationships, patterns and dynamics that are a hidden part of your life. This gives you a renewed sense of control and choice.
-
Gain insights or closure on relationships or habits that may be having a continued negative impact on your life.
-
Develop a sense of peace and acceptance with situations that are outside of your control, but seem to affect you nevertheless.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
There are three ways you can engage in and find reward from doing a constellation:
Issue Holder
As an Issue Holder – you bring an issue that you want to work on and would like support to find new insights for.

Representative
As a Representative – while not working explicitly on your own issue, you represent parts of someone else’s constellation and get reward from both serving the issue holder, and relating it privately to your own life.
Observer
Finally, as an Observer – someone who neither represents nor has an issue, but is bearing witness and supporting someone else’s process. Great if you are curious but unsure about the process.

Below are some FAQs that may help give you a perspective on what a Family Constellation is. The answers are my own and do not represent a complete picture of what is involved, only to start the conversation. The best way to understand it is to come along!
I hope you find them helpful.
Best,
Edward
